Laurel's Birthday

I Love a good Birth Story.....I think It all started at about 4 ish in the Morning December 1st.....About that time Gavin came into bed with us, so i had a hard time telling if i was feeling actual contractions, or the 3 yr old kicking me. By about 6 am i decided they were actual contractions and  i woke Spencer up and told him to get ready. We got to the Hospital at about 8am and they put me in the triage room, and checked me, i was dilated to a 3. The monitors were having a hard time picking up my contractions and after about an hour or two the nurse started talking about Sending me Home......Really this is my 4th Baby!!!! I think i know when im in Labor, thankfully they called my Dr. and he said to let me Walk for an Hour before sending me home. So about 10 am i started Walking, it did not last long.  After 20 minutes my Contractions went from Mild every 5 minutes, to SUPER Intense every 3 minutes. So we headed back into the room, thankfully i was now dilated to a 4 and they admitted me. Once i got to the Big Room, I got my Epidural, And i have to say it was the BEST Epidural i have ever had Seriously!!!!! They Checked me again at around 12pm and i was at a 6. The nurse told me my Dr would be there at to break my water at 1 pm, later she came in and said he got pulled into a c-section and would be there at 2pm. So Spencer and his Dad headed downstairs to get some Lunch.  From 1-2pm i was just hanging out, talking with Spencer's Mom, we were "telling" the baby that she had to come out before 3 because She had to leave by then to pick up the kids from school.little did we know Laurel was actually listening!!! The nurse was busy getting the room ready, i was feeling good....Maybe to good, again GREAT Epidural. Right at 2pm the boys came back and said they saw my Dr. in the hall. he came in a minute later  to break my water, only to discover it had already broke on its own. My Dr said the head was RIGHT THERE and to start pushing.....Really i thought it was a JOKE. So after Pushing through ONE Contraction .....Laurel Lucinda Allred was BORN at 2:04 pm......yes 4 minutes after Spencer and my Dr got there!!!!!
